Sylvie Gallage-Alwis is both an Avocat à la Cour in France and a Solicitor in England & Wales.

Sylvie has extensive experience in handling product liability and product safety claims both civil and criminal for leading clients working in the fields of consumer products, cosmetics, life science, new technologies, industrial products and chemical substances/potentially hazardous substances.

She handles all the product safety issues faced by our clients in France and regularly advises the industry on the impact of regulations, helping them understand which ones apply to their products. In this respect, she is regularly in contact with the French market surveillance authorities such as the DGCCRF and the ANSM. She is said to be "a "trusted adviser" on regulations, product recalls and responding to regulatory authorities" (Who's Who Legal 2016).

Sylvie is also regularly involved in all the stages of expert proceedings, in particular when new technologies products are concerned. She is an expert in product safety issues involving new types of products, such as connected objects for instance.

Sylvie is the youngest member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). She has been appointed Vice Chair of International of the Product Liability Committee.  She is also the only French member of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA).
