Roberta Telles joined IFIA in Washington, DC as the Executive Director Americas in April 2016. In this role, Ms Telles represents the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) Industry in the Americas region and is the secretariat of IFIA’s Global Consumer and Industrial Product Committee. In her previous position, Ms Telles worked at mining giant Vale in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she led various global public affairs initiatives and structured engagement plans and advocacy strategies to identify, assess and manage regulatory risks related to the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Before joining Vale, Ms Telles worked at the office of International Programs at the U.S. Consumer product Safety Commission with responsibilities for the Americas. In that capacity, she planned the first Summit between U.S., Mexico, and Canada and developed strategies for trilateral cooperation. She also developed partnerships with international organizations to strengthen regulatory systems and share best practices among regulators in the Americas region.

Ms Telles is a graduate of Georgetown University with a Master of Public Policy and is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
