Andy Dabydeen is a Manager with the Product Stewardship (PS) team at Canadian Tire Corp. Ltd., where he is accountable for the PS compliance functions. In that capacity, he is responsible for the execution of their incident management and ethical sourcing processes; facilitating measures and monitoring; and maintaining surveillance of the regulatory landscape impacting Canadian Tire. Andy has over 25 years of retail background, with experience in the distribution, transportation, logistics, information technology, and quality assurance functions, in various capacities. In addition to his Canadian Tire responsibilities, Andy also participates in the Canadian and international product safety arena. He is currently Chair of CSA’s Strategic Steering Committee on Business Management & Sustainability; chair of CGSB's Flammability and Labeling Requirements for Tents; member of, CSA’s Strategic Steering Committee on Community Safety & Well Being; SCC's Consumer and Public Interest Panel; ECCC/HC's Stakeholder Advisory Council for the Chemicals Management Plan; UL's STP 2272 Electrical Systems for Self-Balancing Scooters; UL's STP 2984 Managing Risks to the Public Interest in a Regulatory Context; UL 10377 Product Safety committee; RCC's Product Safety Committee; RCC's Responsible Sourcing committee; RILA's Product Safety Committee; RILA's Sustainability Committee; and in the recent past, was a member of the ISO/CAC for Product Recall (ISO 10393); co-chair of GS1’s Product Recall Working Group; and chair of ISO/CAC for Product Safety (ISO 10377).
