In her representation of companies facing state and federal claims of product liability, Gretchen Paine has defended clients in a wide range of cases, including In re Asiana Flight 214 and other major aviation incidents.  She also handles a variety of premises liability injury claims, toxic exposure claims and commercial disputes involving manufacturers.  A partner in the Product Liability practice, Gretchen has a national litigation background that includes claims related to aviation, transportation and motor vehicles, pharmaceutical products, construction equipment, sports equipment and other products.

For clients involved in multidistrict litigation (MDL), Gretchen offers a highly organized and strategic approach in consolidated litigation.  Her MDL background includes successfully streamlining high-volume, high-damage federal courts cases in her defense of aviation manufacturers and global pharmaceutical companies.  Frequently, Gretchen is able to apply her deep technical knowledge in the area of transportation and aviation in related commercial claims.  In one recent matter, she helped to achieve a favorable settlement for a bus manufacturer in a contract dispute with underlying defect allegations.

Gretchen has maintained an active pro bono caseload throughout her career and currently serves as a volunteer attorney to the Court Appointed Special Advocate Program.
