2018 ICPHSO Annual Meeting and Training Symposium

The product safety landscape has dramatically changed over the past 25 years. In honor of ICPHSO’s 25th anniversary, this presentation will look back at the evolution of ICPHSO and product safety over the past 25 years. It will also look forward to what the next 25 might hold in store for our community. A portion of the presentation will dive into the continuous transformation of the product safety regulatory and standards landscape, the impact of computers, software, and the internet on products, the emergence of new data and tools to guide product development, and shifts in the top challenges to product safety stakeholders, such as manufacturers and retailers. Speakers will look back and reflect on what they may have done differently had they known what they know now, using specific examples. The second portion of the session will transition to the future, bringing additional perspectives to speak to how these concepts (data, tools, challenges, regulatory landscape) may change. Attendees will leave the session with practical ideas on how to prepare for the next 25 years.
